The planters inn was constructed in 1844 and is an integral part of charlestons world famous historic center. The inn was built around an inner courtyard containing a lush garden with fountains. Many rooms are entered from grand porches overlooking the courtyard. The inn is furnished with a blend of historically accurate reproductions and authentic antiques. The decor used original period art, antique eastern carpets, and opulent fabrics and lighting. .
